đ What Is a Fundraiser on Bold.org?
A fundraiser allows you to crowdfund donations toward a scholarship hosted and managed by the Bold Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit).
Each fundraiser (or âfundâ) acts as a pool of money set aside specifically to support scholarships. By creating one, you can invite friends, family, colleagues, or your broader community to contribute to your cause through tax-deductible donations.
Why start a fundraiser?
Engage your community. Rally others who care about your cause to multiply your impact.
âGrow your scholarshipâs reach. Crowdfunding lets you build the financial base to offer larger or recurring scholarships in the future.
âMake giving simple. Bold.org manages all donations, compliance, and disbursement logistics, so you can focus on storytelling and connection.
Funds can stay open for ongoing contributions, allowing you and your supporters to build momentum over time.
âď¸ How to Set Up a Fundraiser
Starting a fundraiser on Bold.org takes just a few minutes. To start, log-in to your donor dashboard and click the Yellow "Create a Fund" button.
When you propose a fund, youâll be asked a few questions to help personalize your page and inspire trust in potential donors:
Purpose of the fund: Share your story and mission âwhat inspired you to start this fundraiser?
âMemorial funds: Is this fund in memory of a loved one? Personal stories create connection and authenticity.
âFundraising goal (optional): Set a goal amount to motivate supporters.
âFund name: Choose something descriptive and meaningful.
âCover photo (optional): Upload an image that represents your mission.
Once submitted, our team reviews your proposal and publishes your fundraiser page as soon as possible.
Because fundraisers are often time-sensitive, they donât go through a long editing or draft process. We publish your submission as you wrote itâso your personal tone and voice shine through.
đŹ Tips for Successful Fundraising
Raising awareness for your scholarship fund works best when you treat it as both a campaign and a story worth sharing. Here are a few tried-and-true ways to boost your success:
1. Share, Share, Share
Use every channel available to you:
Post your fundraiser on social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.). Tag @bolddotorg and weâll repost to help amplify your messaging!
Add your link to your email signature or text it to close friends and family.
Ask others to re-share your post to expand your reach.
2. Build a Team
Invite a few trusted people to help amplify your message. Whether itâs family or community members, having others share your fundraiser adds credibility and visibility.
3. Tell Your Story
Be genuine about what inspired your scholarship. Whether it honors someone, celebrates a milestone, or supports a field of study, people give to stories they connect with.
4. Leverage Milestones and Moments
Share updates during meaningful timesâanniversaries, holidays, or Giving Tuesday are all great opportunities to re-engage your network.
